Geoffrey Brumlik - Experience & Background
Bio
Geoffrey was born in Canada, but has been working in the UK for more than a decade. His backgound includes work as a director, Artistic Director , Artistic Associate at a Rergional Theatre in Canada and most recently as head of the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School's MA / MFA Acting programme as well as a Senior Acting Tutor at the school.
A substantial amount of his experience is connected with works of language, in particular work with Shakespeare, as well as on the devolpment of new work. While in Canada he served as Artistic Director of the River City Shakespeare Festival and Associate Director and Artistic Associate of The Citadel Theatre, a major regional company in Western Canada. He was one of two director's chosen each year to join the prestigious Director's Project at Canada's Shaw Festival.
His directing expereince also includes substantial work assistant directing on large scale productions. He has also worked as a Voice and Acting Coach both privately and as support on productions for much of his career.
Education and Training
Geoffrey holds an MA in Directing, from the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, and MFA in Voice Studies from the Royal Central School of Speach and Drama and a BFA in Acting from the University of Alberta in Canada. In addition, he trained as part of the Young Company at Canada's Stratford Festival , and two summers of Study at the Banff Center for the Arts Summer Shakespeare program.
Geoff has spend the past 8 yeer as Head of the MA / MFA Acting course and Senior Acting Tutor at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School.
